Little Red Ribboners

RedRibboners (members of RedRibbon Days) recently moved to a bigger office. Renovation just ended not long ago but the contractors had to come in do some touch-up. They came in last Friday and it was extremely distracting to everyone. Of course people will be distracted and possibly annoyed, there were dust everywhere, noise and paint smell but cant blame the workers, they are just doing their job.
Everyone was distracted but I think it affected Theing and Shiva the most.
Shiva was so distracted and excited especially when one of the workers took off his top she tweeted about it straight away.

I'm not the only one who thinks that Shiva got excited about the topless worker, even her friend Prem said this "Hmmm you seem pretty excited at that! :P"
Look at the smile!!!!

If you think Shiva got excited, Theing just started blushing. Her face was as red as a tomato but she covered it when I came to take her photo.

My Experience as a Delivery Girl for the Day

Working for RedRibbon Days, it is never monotonous. I had the chance to be a delivery girl for the whole of yesterday. Although we pride ourselves with experiential gifts (experience gifts), when a corporate client insists to use us to source for good quality hampers, we are more than happy to do it.

I just realised that I make a not so good delivery girl. First, I dont have a driving license, second I dont have a navigator and my sense of direction is really really bad (worse than Theing our very own Klang girl. Haha!), third it doesnt help if the addresses that is given my our client are wrong, and lastly client assumes that we will do the delivery when we already mentioned to them via email that "hampers will be ready for collection by your despatch team to do the delivery on Thursday".

Okay Okay, I do possess a driving license but living in Melbourne for almost 10 years, you can imagine my sense of direction.

I never had the impression that Klang girls have bad sense of direction but I heard from Shiva.
This is what happened:

Theing has a meeting at Centrepoint, Bandar Utama. She obviously didnt know how to get there so she went on google map to look for the address. Nik was walking past her work station and said "Aiyah Theing, you are so Klang la". So, to Shiva and my defense, we do not think that Klang girls have bad sense of direction, only Nik thinks so!

Well, RedRibbon Days is about giving people a good time so I'm proud to say that although we had to do delivery to an empty houses and when the whole office building has moved from KL to Damansara, we were still able to deliver the gifts to the recipient. So I guess I dont make such a bad delivery girl after all.

Although the notice of us doing the delivery was a very last minute one, we manage to do it because of our values - TEAMWORK.

RedRibboners heard about the news that we had to do delivery - this is what happened

Shiva jumped on her seat and started googling the address of the recipients to ensure i roughly know my directions. okay, i was just kidding, Shiva couldnt jumped on her seat, her backside was still hurting. She just recovered from a very bad fever, swollen tonsil, sore throat (the whole works) and had to take 3 jabs on her back by 2 different doctors (father and son). Okay, I'm not sure why the jabs has to be done by 2 different people - we shall leave that to your imagination.

Ming Nu quickly grabbed her pen and start writing the delivery addresses on the forms for the delivery guy to send out. Although I was the delivery girl, we had another delivery person to help us too. We had to deliver to Rawang, Kepong and places that I only know how to spell. So those places, the delivery boy had to do it for us.

Sherin was extremely busy in her office but she ran out to help me with the addresses that I have to deliver to. Okay, she didnt run but she walked really quickly.

Nik quickly came out to help me with the delivery forms too. Although I saw her wiping her saliva coz she was salivating and hoping that she can eat the chocolates. Okay, only kidding. I love making fun of Nik because she never gets angry :P Nik was our other delivery girl of the day too. She volunteered to help us with the delivery as well.

Fantastic work team! Monday, we shall look at Shiva and my 'Food Delivery Folder' - we like to call it our bible and decide what's for lunch!

Eventful Weekend filled with Events

Time passes so quickly at RedRibbon Days last week - I was nervous because it's time to blog but I did not have any funny things to blog (That was on Friday). But with my weekend filled with events, I knew there will be something to blog about.

I had few friends who came down to KL to visit. Partying hard on a Friday night (until 3am) when you have to wake up early (6.30am) on Saturday morning is not a wise thing to do. But lucky me, I was on time. I woke up a little later than planned, rushed to pick Nik up and below is our BBM conversation:
(The BBM message highlighted in Blue is what Nik wrote to me)

The message written by Nik : OK I'll be a bit late. Nak break.
She meant: OK I'll be a bit late. Nak Berak!

I know Nik since we were 18 years old and to her defense who doesnt BERAK right? But will you share that with your friend? Maybe she really meant Break instead of Berak.

The night before, Lan (Nik's husband) came to visit us at the office and I kept forcing him to read my blog since I'm so new to blogging I was so excited to have people reading my blog. Lan left me a message on Facebook saying that he likes my blog. Below is my Facebook conversation with Lan.
So I'm right, Nik meant Berak and not Break in her BBM message to me.

We had another event earlier today. After dropping Nik, while I was leaving her house I suddenly stopped the car to check what she was doing.
She was trying to climb into her house! She probably forgotten her keys and had to climb into her house. But when I checked with her (after I took her photo), I only realised that she was trying to reach her door latch (not trying to climb over the wooden door).

Nik was having a hard time reaching the latch since it's quite low. I'm not saying that Nik is short but those who know me, they know I am short and erm Nik is shorter than me. So get the picture?
Okay that's it for my eventful Saturday and Sunday.

Rewind to Friday. Friday was a good day, Sherin had an important interview at the office so we all wore
formal attire. Nik even wore a tie!

Okay the focus is not really on her tie. The focus is on her shoes (below)Okay now that you have seen her shoes, please spot the similarity between the picture above and the picture below.

The hands you see in the picture above are not paparazzis. I'm not that famous yet :) They are my colleagues, Theing and Shiva. Still cant see the similarity between the pictures? Okay let me zoom it in:

Okay I should have taken out my socks before wearing those heels. Looks a little funny, right?

Guess that's all from me for this week. I'm looking forward to more interesting and funny things to share with you! Ciao!

The Funny Side of RedRibbon Days

After so many months of procrastination, I finally forced myself on a Sunday afternoon to start my first ever blog. I wanted to continue procrastinating it but how many hours of afternoon nap can I take? I slept so much and if I continue sleeping, I doubt I will be able to sleep tonight.
I should have started writing my blog few months earlier as many things that I encountered would be an interesting topic to share here but guess I can’t turn back time.
I decided on the topic ‘The Funny Side of RedRibbon Days’ because we are not only a FUN company who loves to do what we do but my colleagues are very FUN-ny too (and of course I like to make fun of them). My victim for this week is our director, Nik Hidayati.
RedRibbon Days was invited to sail on a luxury yacht on Wednesday, 28th July 2010. I was the first who volunteered to go for the event, after all, what better way to spend a workday if not sipping champagne, eating canapés and sailing on a yacht? Okay Okay there was no champagne served but it would be nice if champagne was served. Guess who came along with me for the event, yes you guessed it right, Nik.
The event was at 2.30pm so we had quick lunch before we leave for Port Klang on Sunday. The journey to Port Klang from our office is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. On our way there, Nik kept asking me the time. I was quite curious why she kept checking the time until I found out that she had to take her seasick pills at 2 pm sharp (30 minutes before she goes on the yacht).
We took a small boat to the yacht. Below are some pictures of the yacht taken while I was approaching the yacht.

-->
The weather was fantastic on a Wednesday afternoon - sunny and windy. Perfect condition for sailing. The wind on the deck is quite strong as you can see from Nik’s hair (below).

--> -->Below are some pictures taken of the yacht:

-->
Since Nik and I have been friends since we were 18, I told Nik that I will charter a boat for her upcoming birthday in 2 weeks time. But the boat that I will charter for her on her birthday is not the yacht we were on but the picture below:

-->
We were not really dressed for the event, we were in our business attire and Nik as usual was in her high heels. While touring the yacht something funny happened, one side of her heels dropped off while walking down the stairs. I can imagine how embarrassing it must be for Nik but I couldn’t help myself from laughing. I know if something like this happens, we are supposed to pretend that the ‘shoe falling off her foot incident’ did not happen but it happened too fast that I just couldn’t help myself from pretending nothing happened.
After the event, we came back to RedRibbon Days’ office. We just moved to our new office so when we came back Nik continued with her unpacking. I took some photos of her when she was busy unpacking.

The focus here is here is not how hardworking Nik is but something else. Maybe the photo below is more obvious.
-->
That’s right! Why is she walking in the office barefooted? When I saw her without her shoes, I really thought her heels dropped in the water when we were walking on the plank going back to the jetty. I was quite disappointed because I did not have the opportunity to witness it. I think if I saw it, I would have burst out laughing again.
The truth is, her shoes dropped off her feet only once. She was getting really comfortable in the office that she took off her shoes. Not to worry, her heels are safe (under her table).
-->
I hope you enjoyed reading my blog. There will be more to come; I wonder who will be my next victim. Ciao!
