Lucky Draw

Do you believe in lucky draws? Oh, let me rephrase my question, are you the type who always win lucky draws. I, however, have never won any lucky draws in my life. Whether it's raffle tickets or those competition where you drop your business card and win a meal/hotel stay.

Although I cant do much for raffle tickets, I believe the type of lucky draw that you drop your business card where you can win a meal or a hotel stay is based on how you drop your card. Trust me, because now I always win.

How? Like I say, it's how creative you can be when you drop your business card in the bowl. One good example was during an event that RedRibbon Days organised for a corporate client in a hotel.

Check the picture below:

There was a bowl next to the sign but I chose not to drop my business card in the bowl. After all, the instruction didnt say, Drop your Business Card in the Bowl next to this sign, did it?

Paintball Experience

I got reminded by our RedRibbon Days Founder and CEO Sherin Wong that I haven't blogged in ages. Well I guess she's right. The last time I blogged was in July 2011.

I guess when you are happy doing what you are doing, time flies and it's almost 2 years since I last blogged. I was looking my picture collection on my laptop and I decided to blog about my paintball experience that I did sometime last year.  It was a corporate paintball experience that we organised for a corporate client.

Reza and I were the lucky 2 that got to do the paintball experience with our corporate client. Come to think of it, I'm very blessed to have a colleague who enjoys working on weekends. Seriously, Reza and I love working on weekends especially when it comes to doing experiences with RedRibbon Days' corporate clients.
Reza loves paintball - if you ever meet him, ask him for his business card. That's his favourite experience. As for me, ever since I played paintball with Sherin (aka Super Duper Sharp Shooter that shot a paintball pellet in my ear), I don't enjoy paintball anymore. So, the only shooting I did was with a camera that day (below). Oh yes, I'm the shorter but cooler person on the right although I wasnt holding a gun. At least I wasnt wearing a tiara. Haha!

A clearer picture of Reza (below) looking cool.

An even better picture of Reza (below). I think this is my favourite picture of Reza. Haha!

Okay, enough of making fun of Reza.

The paintball experience that we have at RedRibbon Days is very fun. We call it the jungle paintball. It feels like you are in a middle of a jungle. Check out the pictures below and yes, the only thing I shot was with my camera that day.

Oh yes, did I mention that the winner on that day is the lady below? She killed everyone.

Santa Baby

I used to be a grinch (long story) but not anymore. Ever since sales at RedRibbon Days peak in December, I started loving Christmas - a season of Joy and Gifting - a season of Celebration and love.

Our Founder and CEO, Sherin Wong decided that since it's Christmas and most of our customers in KL were ordering vouchers with courier delivery option, we decided that we should make it more wow by sending our helium balloons and gift packs by dressing up as Santa. Most of us at RedRibbon Days had the chance to try the Santa outfit in our office.

I was the first to volunteer. My colleagues started laughing and nope.. failed. Doesnt look right (below)

So I tried again (below). After all Santa does not wear black rimmed spectacles. Ok my colleagues still feel that it doesnt look right.
Our RedRibbon Days Founder and CEO, Sherin Wong even had to help me adjust my outfit (below). Still no.
We also had our Assistant Head of Security/ Assistant Chief Security Officer, Shane to try his Santa outfit and he looked amazing in his outfit. (below)
In the end we had to settle for one of our despatch guys to wear the santa costume since it was after working hours and Shane wanted to go home to chill (below)
Because life is good and he doesn't do overtime.

Tandem Paramotor Adventure

I recently had the opportunity to accompany one of our corporate clients to go for Tandem Paramotor Experience. I have been for the experience few times (I even accompanied the DiGi Scratch and Win Prepaid Golden Ticket winners to do this experience with Lisa Surihani since our corporate team organised everything for them) but I'm kiasu like that. Haha! I just love the outdoors and anything that is to do with flight and flying, I am always up for it.... and also, as usual, I always get to do the experience :)

The first thing that I noticed when we arrived. Oh the paramotor.

Did you know paramotors are not only used for flying but also as a swing.

Yup, if you tie the fan on the tree, you can sit on it like swing. (below)

After our safety briefing, we were ready to take off. A picture below where we attached the parachute to the paramotor (below)
We were lucky because the weather that day was amazing. Wind was perfect and we didnt have to wait long before our clients went for the ride.
 And off they go! (below)

Sepang Go Kart

I am a self proclaimed petrol head who loves everything fast especially cars. I was extremely excited when I got to accompany our corporate client for their corporate go kart experience in Sepang.

I arrived so early that the Sepang Kart Circuit was not even opened yet. I could see go-karts ready for us from outside and decided to climb in - hopefully I can take the kart for a few rounds before our corporate client arrives.

But I changed my mind after getting stucked half way. So, I decided to call our go-kart experience partner to tell him that I arrived early and if he could come a little earlier to open the gates for me. And fortunately, he was happy to come earlier to meet me.

Our go-kart experience partner is obviously in a good mood. He noticed that I am an avid Formula One fan and gave me a private tour of Sepang International Circuit. Some pictures of the circuit below:

I was even offered to drive my car in but I was too shy to say yes. Maybe next time.

White Water Rafting

I am proud to say that I have done most of the flight and flying experiences on RedRibbon Days. I am one of the dare devils at our office but when it comes to water, I hesitate. The only one water experience that I have done and scared the shit out of me was Discover Scuba Diving and I was super scared and yup it was done in a swimming pool.

So when I found out that our corporate client is interested to go for White Water Rafting , I decided to face my fear and accompany them. After all, I cant say no when our corporate client invites me to join them.

Well, guess what, our corporate client invited me to join them. After all, each raft can fit 5 pax and they had one spot for me. How lucky.

I considered and guess what I did. I stayed on the lorry and was too scared to even get down from it (below).

Acting like a caged monkey didnt help because our clients insisted that I should go down and see them do the experience. Love our clients, they knew there is no way they could drag me in the raft.

Basically when we arrived at the meeting point, a lorry will take us to the starting point since we had to transport the rafts there (below):

Once we arrive at the starting point, I decided to get down from the lorry since it's beautiful. The water rapid was perfect that day for the experience :

Our experience partner started with the briefing once we worked together to get the rafts to the starting point (below)

After the safety briefing, we were ready to go. Ok not we, since I was too scared. I took some photos of our clients during the experience though:

After they completed their experience, I could see the satisfaction on our clients face. They were tired but happy. That was the time when I regretted for not following them :( Next one, I promised myself.

Paragliding in Malaysia

One of my favourite experiences that I have tried a few times - Tandem Paragliding Adventure. Everytime we have our RedRibbon Days ' corporate clients doing the experience, I will usually volunteer to go see them do the experience. If I am lucky, the paragliding instructor will offer me to do the experience for free and I have been very blessed and lucky - that's the reason I have done it many times. The feeling is always amazing. I got a thing for adrenalin rush.

The location is in Banting, it's about 1 hours drive from KL. The drive feels extremely long especially we have to pass by small towns and kampungs and the roads are small but the destination is worth it.

Below is where we take off for the paragliding experience:

The view is breathtaking! I have been to this location more than 10 times but I always love the view.

The picture above is our 'Captain' for the experience. He is a professional paragliding instructor and won many paragliding competitions. He is a retired colonel who used to work in the army. Everytime I call him I think of KFC's colonel Sanders. But most importantly, he puts safety in priority.

I have waited for 5 hours just to do this experience. In paragliding, it's also called para-waiting. Got to wait for the right wind. But based on my experience, if you are not the patient type, best to do this experience after 2pm. The wind is better during that time. Oh, yes, another note about this experience - there are no toilet facilities nearby.

Photo of the customers that waited to do the experience for 5 hours (below). They insisted to do the experience at 9am but we waited till 2pm for the first person to paraglide. I was glad that they didnt mind waiting for their experience. All of them were quite hungry since we did not eat after Mc Donalds for breakfast but you dont want to do this experience when your stomach is full.
A photo of our very own Colonel giving safety briefing to our customers (below)

I like the tagline on colonel's tshirt (above) - "Fly Anywhere Anytime" but of course only when the wind is right, and as long as its between 2pm-5pm since you cant fly at night and in the morning, the wind is not that good.

If you cant see the wordings on Colonel's tshirt, I got him to pose again. Not a bad model for me. (above)

Finally after waiting for so long, our first tandem paraglider is ready to take off (above).

I'm glad that everyone enjoyed themselves. Well worth the wait. On the way back, we all stopped at the nearest petrol station and rushed in. Everyone in the group knew the reason of our stop.
