We take Eating Seriously - Part 1

I love our RedRibbon Days weekly lunch together. It's actually our weekly meeting + lunch. It is the time where we update each other on our work progress, discuss ideas and me bugging everyone to blog.

Last Friday we had Maggi Mee Burger for lunch and I absolutely love it. Ara and I were in-charged of getting lunch. Our team believes in team work even when it comes to getting lunch.

First, Ramyah took everyone's order and wrote down on a piece of paper. Then, she passed the order to Ara and Ara photocopied the order - so each of them has an identical list (below)

Then as we make our way to Bestari, Ramyah calls to order the food.

And finally when we arrive, we dont have to wait for long to get our food. Perfect strategy dont you think? Haha!

ATV Malaysia

I am blessed to be able to do most of the adventurous experiences at RedRibbon Days. What can I say, these are the perks since I love going for the experiences with our corporate clients and our RedRibbon Days Founder and CEO Sherin Wong believes that we have to try and test experiences to make sure they are safe (especially high risk experiences) before we upload them on our website. So, there are quite a few experiences that we dropped from our website because they failed our quality test.

One of the experience which I love and have done many many times is ATV experience. This is an amazing experience that our retail customers love to get for their partner's birthday/ anniversary and corporate loves it too. We definitely can accommodate from 2 till 20 customers at one time. We have organised for 40 customers at one time but the first group has to go first and when they are done, the second group can go for it. If you are not sure what an ATV looks like, please find the picture below:

As you can see, there are quite a lot of ATVs and the ATVs are maintained very well. There are quite many trails that we provide but my favourite and the most often trail that I have done is ATV Waterfall Adventure. I like it because I have done is so many times but everytime is still exciting. 

The best thing about this trail is you get to enter the jungle to get to a beautiful waterfall. (below)

I heard that the beautiful waterfall for this trail is called Sofea Jane Waterfall. Reason to this is because many many years ago, a production crew shot a movie at this waterfall and there was a scene where Sofea Jane swam in this waterfall.

The water is cold and refreshing. You have an option to picnic at the waterfall if you like but usually we have a break for 10 minutes and proceed back.

I have never watched the Sofea Jane movie so I name this waterfall Lina Teoh Waterfall. Why? Because RedRibbon Days organised an ATV experience for Lina Teoh. The picture below:

Now you see why I named this waterfall the Lina Teoh Waterfall :)

Lucky Draw

Do you believe in lucky draws? Oh, let me rephrase my question, are you the type who always win lucky draws. I, however, have never won any lucky draws in my life. Whether it's raffle tickets or those competition where you drop your business card and win a meal/hotel stay.

Although I cant do much for raffle tickets, I believe the type of lucky draw that you drop your business card where you can win a meal or a hotel stay is based on how you drop your card. Trust me, because now I always win.

How? Like I say, it's how creative you can be when you drop your business card in the bowl. One good example was during an event that RedRibbon Days organised for a corporate client in a hotel.

There was a bowl next to the sign but I chose not to drop my business card in the bowl. After all, the instruction didnt say, Drop your Business Card in the Bowl next to this sign, did it?

RedRibbon Days' Corporate Trade Show

RedRibbon Days participated in a tradeshow in May 2011. Please check out our booth (below):


Quite tastefully done - RED and WHITE - credit to Sherin and the corporate team of course. Looking at the picture suddenly reminded me of the heavy tables, computer monitor, banners, boxes... that we worked together to carry up and down the stairs.

Okay, now I shall focus on one of my favourite topics, Nik! I think those who read my blog notice that I love talking about Nik because she is very funny.

The booth next to ours were selling massage chairs and the sales person was very friendly. Kept coming over to our booth and talked to us. He even invited us to try his massage chair.

Since the sales person was so friendly, Nik decided to try the massage chair (below).


Reza, Sophia and I were quite busy explaining to people about RedRibbon Days. We didnt notice that Nik was gone for quite a while.

Then it started raining heavily. Nik slept so well that someone stole her shoes while she was sleeping. Dont believe me? check out the photo (below)

Yup! Poor Nik was shoe-less.

Turtle Mode

Recently I had the opportunity to do a go-kart experience with RedRibbon Days. At RedRibbon Days, we believe in actually road testing our experiences before we put it up on our website and customise it into a gift experience. Hence all of us at RRD have the opportunity to experience exciting stuffs.

So I would like to talk about my go kart experience. It's such an amazing experience. I never knew that I could feel how Webber feels. Of course it's not as fast as formula one but I felt like a formula one driver. I am an avid fan of Formula One and of course my favourite driver is Mark Webber. Why do I like Webber? Well he's Aussie! Aussie Aussie Oi! Oi! Oi!

It's so easy to drive a go kart, you only need to is accelerate and brake. No gear shiftings - so that was great for me since I dont remember how to change gears.

Dresscode for this experience: Just wear something comfortable - helmet and shower cap is provided. It's quite good since some people are disgusted with smelly and sweaty helmet - you get to wear a disposal shower cap.

Basically the hard part about this experience is wearing the shower cap (below)

So first, I took quite a long time trying to fit the shower cap in my head.
Then, I wore the helmet and was ready for the Experience of a lifetime! Of course the helmet was a little heavy for me that I had to use my right hand to adjust it.
And I'm ready to go (below)

........ Okay -lah, according to Sherin and Nik, I was probably the slowest. They cant expect me to go fast, after all, I was in my turtle mode!
It's definitely something that I would love to do again.

Chinese New Year at RedRibbon Days

Recently I posted a picture up on my twitter saying "Gong Xi Fa Cai". I know CNY never falls in July but seeing how RED the team was, reminds me of CNY. Below is the photo that I posted up on twitter :

RED Balloons, Red tie, Red Tops - absolutely beautiful. Oh btw, RED is our founder Sherin Wong's favourite colour - Basically RED, BLACK and WHITE are Sherin's favourite colours. Notice those are the colours of our RedRibbon Days logo?

At RedRibbon Days, we continue to upgrade our website to make it as user friendly as possible. One very good suggestion from Nora, to implement a live chat on our website. The idea is so good that we executed it immediately.

The team all worked together to test the software to make sure it is perfect before we put it live on our website.

Everyone at RedRibbon Days worked together to test the software. Erm, we were supposed to talk to each other but Shiva decided that she will be the Pleasure Team Consultant and the customer at the same time.
Shiva started talking to herself and started laughing that Penny decided to go to her workstation to see what Shiva was doing. And suddenly, the both laughed out loud (below).
Okay, I am not sure what Shiva was talking to herself about. It definitely looks funny or dirty.

After putting the live chat live on RedRibbon Days, the respond was amazing. Fantastic tool for customers who are overseas and customers who prefers to enquire online and get an immediate response from us.

I know I always say this but because I feel blessed and thankful, let me say it again. I am thankful and blessed that we have such a fantastic team and really, if it's not because of their brilliant suggestions, it will be quite difficult for us to continue to improve.
